Zeolites are microporous, crystalline aluminosilicate materials commonly used as commercial adsorbents and catalysts. They mainly consist of silicon, aluminium, oxygen. More than 80 kinds of zeolites have been found in nature, and the more common ones are analcite, chabazite, calcium zeolite, heulandite, sodium zeolite, mordenite, stilbite, etc., Zeolite is mainly formed in the low-temperature hydrothermal stage, and is often found in the pores of extrusive rocks, as well as in hydrothermal deposits and modern hot spring deposits. Zeolite can be used to exchange cations. The sodium ions in its components can be exchanged with calcium, magnesium and other ions in the aqueous solution. It is used industrially to soften hard water. The crystal structure of zeolite is composed of silicon (aluminum) oxygen tetrahedrons connected into a three-dimensional grid, and there are holes and channels of various sizes in the grid, which is extremely open. Alkali metal or alkaline earth metal ions and water molecules are distributed in the holes and channels, and the connection with the lattice is weak. Different ion exchanges have little effect on the zeolite structure, but change the properties of the zeolite. Cavities of different sizes exist in the crystal lattice, which can absorb or filter molecules of other substances of different sizes. In industry, it is often used as a molecular sieve to purify or separate substances with mixed components, such as gas separation, oil purification, and industrial pollution treatment.
For horticulture, zeolite can be used as soil improvement agent. It has strong absorbability, can reduce the peculiar smell in the flowerpot, and its high porosity feature is advantageous for the timely exchange of various nutrients, so as to improve significantly the soil moisture and fertilizer conservation capacity, and can prevent the loss of the effective pesticide ingredients.
For agriculture, zeolite can quickly absorb ammonia ion and nitrite in water, it has function to remove toxic substances, and to stabilize pH value of the water. It can provide minerals and microelements needed for fish growing, also, as a good natural filter material, it has a strong ability for the water purification. It provides a source of slowly released potassium. If previously loaded with ammonium, the zeolite can serve a similar function in the slow release of nitrogen. Zeolite can also act as water moderators, in which they will absorb up to 55% of their weight in water and slowly release it under the plant’s demand. This property can prevent root rot and moderate drought cycles.
We provide zeolite with different sizes as you require. The sizes we supply for zeolite is commonly 1-3mm, 3-6mm and 6-8mm We supply the zeolite product with comprehensive sizes, excellent quality and competitive price, and hope to become your trusted collaborator!
